The Baltic port community deeply worried about the unprovoked war in Ukraine

Members of the Board of the Baltic Ports Organization (BPO), who gathered yesterday during and extraordinary board meeting, express their deepest sorrow over the tragedy of Ukrainian citizens and their families. The situation in Ukraine fills us with great concern for the life and well-being of the Ukrainians.

The fear and destruction faced by the Ukrainian people are heart-breaking. We hope for a quick end to the hostilities and the loss of life. Our thoughts and prayers also go to all our friends and their families in the Ukrainian port community, as their safety is particularly threatened due to the strategic nature of the ports.

Furthermore, considering the major disruptions to supply chains in Europe and globally, it is paramount to ensure the security of a continuous supply of essential goods, such as food, medicine and medical equipment. Only this way Europe will be able to continue to support Ukraine in its time of need.
