The cruise season soon to start in Rønne

This year the Port of Rønne expects 40 cruise ships to dock at its premises (three more than a year before) as well as another eight to dock at Bornholm’s other ports, altogether with over 50,000 cruise tourists on-board the ships.

Last year, approx. 43,000 cruise tourists visited the island. Although their number is rising, it may not straightforward translate to an increase in island’s business profits. According to Jan Bidstrup, President of the Chamber of Commerce in Rønne, "We've worked hard to create some really good arrangements for the cruise tourists. Even with the extra initiatives, we sadly have to admit that only few of us have experienced significant increase in revenue".

The cruise season will start on May 10, with the arrival of Costa Pacifica carrying more than 2,800 passengers on-board and end on October 8, when Astor, with 590 passengers, will leave the dock and sail to her next destination, Copenhagen.
